A Pre-Columbian Museum experience at the White Bear Art Center

What a great exercise it was to convert the beautiful artful space, to a museum experience, for a ten day show. Peru has the largest collection of ancient textiles in the world and I have spent many hours over the course of three decades in those museums.

The past year’s designs really reflect the spirit of the ancient weavings we’ve been studying, mostly at the Amano Museum in Lima. In fact I think the spirit has been so well captured that it moved the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art to give us the ‘Best of Fiber’ award at the July art show! There are great people in Madison, Wisconsin with a vast amount of cultural curiosity.
