Greetings Friends,

It’s a hard time to craft my quarterly e-newsletter; when we are fighting to save our democracy, and there is so much conflict and loss in the world, I missed a quarter! A helpful quote from Tara Brach to inspire; ‘We need to stay open to what brings us happiness, this is what gives us the resilience to respond to the challenges we face’

I am grateful for the joy received from the Andean culture, design work, colors, textures and our ongoing commitment to preservation of the old world weaving techniques of ArtAndes rugs. I hope you will find this update a pleasant distraction!

Events

Mill City Farmers Market every Saturday through the fall, starting May 3rd. The community space used for cooking demos and social events has moved back to the courtyard in the historic train shed, a fun & positive change this year. Come visit and see what's happening!!! It's the best little Farmers Market in the midwest!

Stillwater Textile Barn: Very Cheerfully open by appt. Come to the St. Croix River Valley & make a day of it! Tea & cookies will be served

Textiles

We have been working on new designs, the Quispe families skill level still continue to amaze me even 30 years later.
We have been fortunate with some great custom projects. #1: A stair/hallway project for a recently remodeled Tudor home in DesMoines # 2: A long entry for a Mill City condo # 3 My cousins new apt needed an artistic touch. Our textiles on the wall make a room come alive with the depth of the natural dye colors. I make a simple velcro board for hanging, it's super easy. The Textile is dual purpose, it can easily move from wall to floor anytime.  

Travel

My (post) covid trip designing has changed ! Small (2-4) and tailored to your pace and passions! Free time and independence are part of the deal. I’ve just completed a Peru trip for two with a lovely 8 day Galápagos Islands extension. The months of April & late November/December are best. Rich in culture & depth of experience!

Peru If you have special areas of interest, let me know! This can be tailored for you & yours. Peru is such a bio-diverse and culturally rich country, it makes everyday a memorable day.
