Travel through Peru can be a transformational experience. This unique & culturally historic journey allows an insight into this biodiverse country and it's humble people.
While you stay at great places and eat delicious food, your daytime experiences are off the beaten path and in close contact with the friends and co-workers we have made during the 30 years of working together. Being in the small communities & homes of friends is memorable & FUN!
You know Peru through the eyes, hands and heart of the Andean people, it is a compelling experience. Feel free to ask for more information and references from past travelers, some of whom have gone more than once!
We have limited departures a year. Travel with a small group of 8-12 people. Three guides for a group this size allows for freedom, flexibility and different physical paces and desires. Our goal is for you to have an independant experience — and pursue your passions!
A reference from Lyndel King/ Curator of the Weisman Art Museum This was a custom designed trip Nov 2018 with an arts focus for folks from the Weisman Museum & The White Bear Center of the Arts. (All trips are custom designed!)
”Melanie gave us a magical experience with wondrous people, places, and art. She introduced us to the weavers, knitters, and other craftspeople and artists who make beautiful things. Because we were buying things, for the most part, directly from the makers, you could also feel that you were helping people sustain themselves through their art and that you were also helping preserve a culture— a way of life and its art. Through Melanie, we were allowed into people’s homes in remote places—an experience we could never have had without her. She knows the land and its people very well and was able to make us feel a part of it in a generous and gracious way.”
